Tête-à-Tête
Step inside the studios and creative spaces of the makers we admire. The Charms Behind the Craft is a series spotlighting creatives around the world - not just what they create, but the jewels they wear while doing it. Hear from them in their own words about the craft they fell in love with, where they find their inspiration, and the story behind their stack.
Meet Alba, aka Tête-à-Tête, Astrid & Miyu's Integrated Producer by day and a supper club host by night.
01. Tell us about you
I was born and raised in Munich, Germany as one of three sisters. When I was younger, I always had lots of plans for my career, from wanting to be a fashion designer, to being a painter, a journalist, a chef and even a farmer. I could never quite decide what path to choose as I was passionate about so many things at once.
When I was 18, I moved to London to start working in the Production world alongside university. I immediately fell in love with the creative industry and worked across different roles until I joined Astrid & Miyu in 2025.
While I was between jobs, I founded Tête-à-Tête, a space for people from all backgrounds to come together, make new friends and connect over a shared love for food. As a Pisces, I’ve always had big dreams and a desire to create and connect with others. Getting to do two things I love, working as a Producer during the week and being a supper club host on the weekend, is so rewarding to me.
02. What made you start creating?
My passion for cooking started at a very young age. Every evening, when my mum got back from work, I would keep her company in the kitchen while she cooked the most delicious food. She always had a skill to make something beautiful with minimal ingredients, and I loved being her mini sous chef.
Later on, I started hosting dinners for my friends and family and found that the best conversation happens when you sit at the table for hours. This sparked the idea to host events on a bigger scale.
In 2024, I started hosting supper clubs for total strangers with the goal of bringing people together by sharing food at a big table. Something that started as a fun experiment has now grown into a community that I would have dreamed to be a part of when I moved to London at the age of 18.
03. Where do you find inspiration?
I get most of my inspiration from my weekly trips to the farmers market, so everything I create moves with the seasons. Every Saturday, I pick up fresh fruits and vegetables and let the produce do most of the work. With every event, I try to challenge myself to do something a little unusual. I take an ingredient and spin ideas until I get somewhere interesting. The best part of coming up with your own menus is that you get to play with food, so ideas like braided bread towers, seashell shaped butter and eccentric desserts make it extra fun!
04. What makes the perfect supper club?
You could have the most delicious menu, beautiful tablescapes, the perfect playlist, but it really is the people who make it. Like at any other dinner party, it’s being in good company that makes the evening so memorable. The most rewarding part of hosting these events is seeing strangers from all over the place share food and make meaningful connections.
05. How do your charms tell your story?
Lots of us in the A&M office have been personalising our bold initial necklaces with charms, which has been so fun. I always wear my pisces zodiac charm, my sisters’ birthstones and a four leaf clover for good luck. Wearing these close to me gives me an extra confidence boost before big events.
06. One piece of advice for someone wanting to start their own supper club?
Start small and try lots of different things! You don’t need to be a professional chef to make great food and bring people together. Start by inviting your friends for dinner and experiment with an elaborate menu, then slowly start spreading the word and expanding your events.
Ask for help, make sure to prep anything you can in advance and embrace all the little slip ups along the way. Chances are, other people don’t even notice them!
