The Initial Inspiration

"Our original inspiration for the collection came from traditional promise rings - delicate, sentimental pieces given ahead of official engagements to symbolise commitment," says Mariana, from our Jewellery Design team.

"But the more we thought about it, the more we wanted to challenge that narrative. Why should women wait around to be gifted special rings only when someone else decides the time is right? And why limit it to just one moment in a lifetime?"

The Sketching Process

"Once our intentions were clear, we started putting pencil to paper. Although we chose to step away from traditional sentiment, we still drew inspiration from classic ring profiles - Toi et Moi, Eternity, Court. We wanted silhouettes that felt timeless and elegant, but with a distinct A&M spin," continues Mariana. 

"During the sketching phase, it’s easy to get carried away. But the true beauty of fine rings comes from their simplicity, and their ability to sit seamlessly outside of fast-moving trends."

The Materials

Birthstones are an A&M staple for their rich colour and personal symbolism. From warm red stones like Garnet and Ruby to cool blue stones like Aquamarine and Tanzanite, there’s a gemstone meaning tailored to every story.

“We originally designed the Birthstone Milestone Ring with an Alexandrite centre stone, chosen for its association with personal growth and transformation - a continuous theme in all life milestones. But following its success, we’ve expanded the range to include a full spectrum of gemstone options, so our community can pick the one that’s meaningful to them,” say Georgia, from our Product Development team.

Featured throughout the collection, lab-grown diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and emeralds offer unmatched clarity, vibrant colour, and identical physical properties to their mined stones, without the human impact. Looking forward, our goal is to create 100% of lab-grown stones with renewable energy by 2028.
