Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines the actions Astrid & Miyu has taken, and continues to take, to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking are eradicated from our business operations and extended supply chains.


Our Business and Supply Chain Astrid & Miyu is a London-based contemporary jewellery brand specialising in everyday pieces, experiential retail, ear piercing, and welded jewellery. Our global supply chain encompasses the sourcing of precious metals, semi-precious stones, and packaging materials, partnering primarily with specialised manufacturers in Asia and Europe. We clearly recognise that the global jewellery sector carries inherent risks related to unethical labour practices, forced labour, and raw material extraction.


Our Policies We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to ethical integrity in all business relationships. We enforce rigorous systems and controls to safeguard against human trafficking through the following frameworks:


  • Supplier Code of Conduct: All manufacturing partners must formally sign our code, which strictly prohibits forced labour, child labour, and unsafe working conditions, while mandating fair, living compensation.

  • Responsible Sourcing Policy: We are actively transitioning our core collections to 100% recycled sterling silver and solid gold, significantly minimising our reliance on newly mined materials. We strictly prioritise partners certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

  • Whistleblowing Policy: We provide a secure, confidential reporting mechanism for employees, contractors, and suppliers to raise any suspicions of exploitation or unsafe conditions without fear of reprisal.


Due Diligence and Risk Assessment We expect all suppliers to hold their own secondary supply chains to the same high standards. To identify and mitigate risk, our due diligence processes include:

  • Conducting comprehensive ethical audits and independent on-site factory inspections prior to onboarding any new manufacturing partner.

  • Requiring annual compliance declarations and self-assessments from all existing tier-one suppliers.

  • Mapping our supply chain to trace raw materials back to their origin, specifically monitoring high-risk geographic areas within the gemstone and metal trades.


Training and Performance To ensure a high level of vigilance regarding the risks of modern slavery, we mandate annual training for our procurement, operations, and executive teams. We measure our effectiveness by tracking the completion rates of these training modules, the percentage of suppliers audited, and the successful resolution of any non-compliance issues.
