Celebrating our new store on Abbot Kinney

Behind The Scenes: Our LA Takeover

Back to articles

Back in April, we landed in LA with our dream and our cardigan, and since then, it’s been a whirlwind of palm trees, iced matchas, and, most importantly, getting to know you.

To celebrate the opening of our brand new home on Abbot Kinney, we didn’t just want to open our doors, but our arms to the whole neighbourhood. We got to work making new friends and putting our heart and soul into creating events that felt exciting, inviting and authentic to us.

From run clubs to sunrize yoga to life drawing, we’ve had so much fun meeting everybody and getting to know your must-visit spots in the area. Now, we’re taking a moment to share a roundup of our favourite moments across the month.

The A&M Passport

Been there, got the passport. As it’s our first time in LA, we needed a little help getting to know our new area. Luckily, we had some local A&M lovers on hand to show us around.

We created the A&M Passport to get to know our community’s favourite workout classes, dinner reservations and sunset hangs. What we discovered is that Venice is full of cool, unique spots, and cool, unique people, too!

The Opening Night

To celebrate being the newbies on Abbot Kinney, we invited our friends and local founders to join us for an evening with the fellow inspiring women and community leaders who have helped shape our launch in LA.

It was an evening of great conversation, even better jewelry and piercings, and celebrating new friendships.

Sunset miles

We hit the pavement (and the Venice boardwalk) to see the city at speed. There’s no better way to earn that post-run matcha than a jog with the Venice community.

We partnered with two iconic LA groups, Venice Run Club and Girl Gang Crazy, to host our first local runs. And it was about more than just raising our heartbeats – every ticket sold helped us support their chosen local women's charities.

Life Drawing

We partnered with The Painted Peach to host an intimate evening of sketching and self-expression at our Abbot Kinney store. Joined by the Hype Girl Club, it was a chance for our community to get in touch with their creative side and curate our signature charm jewelry.

Local artist, Amanda, guided our guests through the art of sketching a live model – from measuring proportions, to light & shade, and, of course, capturing the beauty of our A&M jewels.
