For a lot of people their first icon & fashion influencer was their mum and we are more like them than we sometimes care to admit. So we asked 3 of our favourite boss babes to go back into the archives and recreate some of their mums most stylish looks, their versions will certainly make you do a double take.
Recreating our Mum's old Photos
"This photo of my mum was taken at a wedding, close to where I live now. Her iconic red pantsuit is just legendary, and I love how she has kept it all these years! She always accessorized quite minimally, but kept to her own personal style and key pieces of jewellery. Now that I look back our styles are definitely similar, as she and I both loved the 90s and a padded blazer! I think it's great how similar her jewels look to the Vintage Collection of Astrid And Miyu - and the feeling of nostalgia is so lovely. "
- "There’s a picture of my Mum on her first holiday with my Dad, he took it in the villa as they were heading out for dinner. It’s a very 80s moment; the big, curled hair, all white outfit to set off her tan and a huge gold necklace. My Mum was, and still is, the epitome of glamour. As I’ve grown older we’ve switched from me stealing her clothes to her stealing mine, and now she’s got her eye on my A&M jewellery!
I loved recreating this look with the gold link chain and the chunky rope hoops."
"When I was around 6 years old, my mum would allow me to play dress up in her clothes and jewellery. She had the most amazing dresses she made herself, and I would style them with belts, big earrings and heels, pretending I was walking down Milan Catwalk, like the models I watched on Fashion TV. She would always clap and take photos for the family album. We still have them somewhere! I still raid her jewellery box for vintage earrings to match my outfits and take all her new pieces too!"
