Women Making Waves - Celebrating International Women's Day 2020 #HarderThanDiamonds
I bet some of you don’t know that the first IWD was celebrated in 1911. That’s well over a century of us gals coming together celebrating nothing other than how damn amazing we are. We have achieved so much since then and today, women are in parliament, CEOs of billion pound companies and even in space! Of course, the feminist fight is far from over. It’s everyone’s responsibility to keep pushing for greater representation, opportunities and recognition - not just on International Women’s Day but year-wide.
We are all proving that not only can we take on whatever is thrown at us and triumph, but also that we can come together and salute each other's achievements and successes. We recognise every woman has achieved something great in their own right, overcoming their own obstacles. We’ve put together a list of a few women from all walks of life, that inspire, influence and encourage us everyday. Bring on International women's day 2020!

From scientists and sports stars, to climate activists and style icons, we have a look at some trailblazing, influential women who are absolutely slaying life and doing some extraordinary things all around the world.
Astrid & Miyu International Women's day 2020 Events
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2020, join us in March for a week packed full of female led career, wellness and fitness events across our London stores.
Each day will focus on a different theme to continue the momentum of IWD, celebrate women across the globe and offer an opportunity to get your girl gang together to feel inspired, empowered and have some fun!
The week’s activities will include panel talks from some of the biggest female founded brands, opportunities to get your creative juices flowing (activities range from candle making classes to nipple tassle workshops) and finish the week off with a Frame dance class. Visit our events page to see all the fun activities we will be hosting over International Women's Week 2020.
Support Bloody Good Periods, our 2020 IWD charity partner
All tickets for every event of the week are £10 with all proceeds going to Bloody Good Period, a charity initiative dedicated to eradicating period poverty across the UK.
Bloody Good Period provides menstrual products and toiletries to asylum seekers, refugees and those who can’t afford them as well as providing menstrual and reproductive education to women. BGP also exists to eradicate the shame and stigma surrounding menstruation by campaigning and encouraging the conversation around periods.
